Episode 2: Permission to Find Joy in Motherhood with Alex DeRose
Sometimes it’s a challenge to find joy in motherhood. When all the demands of running a household and raising little ones become overwhelming it
FEATURED POST
I had a vision of this being a place of encouragement for moms like me who may be trying to navigate motherhood and a personal passion. I want to remind mothers of the uniqueness of their call and I want them to know that even though motherhood is one of the greatest things we will ever do, it is also only part of our story.

Sometimes it’s a challenge to find joy in motherhood. When all the demands of running a household and raising little ones become overwhelming it
I’ve been a stay-at-home mom now for 6 years after an 8 years career as a high school Theology teacher. I loved my work, but I knew that eventually, I’d leave the classroom and live the dream of being home with my kids and homeschooling.
On Friday, June 11th, we closed the books on our 5th year of homeschooling. I felt like I was limping to the finish line last week desperately ready to call this year DONE!
We were driving. In an instant everything changed. The image of our marriage came into focus, revealed for what it truly was, wounded and in need of lifesaving care. The details of what brought us to that day don’t matter. It’s what happened when it all fell apart that does.
Right now you are trying so hard to figure out what holiness looks like. You used to think you knew, but along the way you realized that your view of holiness was actually too narrow. Here are the three things that you are about to learn about holiness in the next 5 years.
Have you ever been given a penance in confession that didn’t exactly have an end? I’m not usually one to share publicly the details of confession or my penances, but this past Friday I was given a “never-ending penance.”

hey mamas!
LET’S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER
I’m a wife, homeschool mom of 4, Certified FertilityCare Practitioner, Woman School Strategist and local Theology of the Body and NFP speaker. I wear a LOT of hats but the most important one is mom.
I believe that God’s dream for us is always bigger than the dreams we have for ourselves. And I believe that his dream for us is the surest way to sanctity. My hope is to encourage moms to discover God’s dream for them and pursue it.
